Bad at this

Ever since the first day of school I have been horrible at updating, even with the phone app for posting… need to make posting into a habit.

Now I’m in my physics class. No lab today so I will have a large amount of time before my next class.

Before this class I overheard another teacher instructing her students that they have to get used to using twitter for business in order to stay ahead in a science career. I have just added nearly all the science magazines and organizations to my twitter feed as a result.
We shall see how often I actually check them.

I need to get myself another micro USB so I don’t have to worry about battery on my phone at school. 12 hours is a long time for a smart phone.

And now for your viewing pleasure:

On that note, Burger King had cheesy tots again, and McDonalds has Cherry Pie. All is right with the world.

Fail

I’m doing horrible at this whole “posting once a day” thing. I’ll have to fill in some posts on those days before it’s too late. Tonight we drive to riverside for a games birthday party. Right now we are going to go get all you can eat sushi at Sushi GP, our new favorite sushi place. Seriously, so good. We can’t get enough. Maybe I will post add a picture later.

Doing good in little ways.

Today was the first time I saw a clear sign of our financial state as a country. As James  and I were driving to get some pizza we encountered a homeless family on the side of the road. A whole family. Mother, father, two small children. It was also fairly cold out today too. James and I were going to Little Ceasars, and decided to get a third pizza, because we could. As we were leaving Little Ceasars we saw the family leaving, so we had to hurry and drive around the block to cut them off and give them the pizza. They had just raised enough money to get a little food at Jack In the Box. They were almost tearfully greatfull for the pizza. The mom took the pizza and turned to the children and said “look what the nice people gave us, PIZZA!”

I almost cried. We got back in our car and drove back to the nice roof over our heads that we are so lucky to be able to have.

I finished a Feast for Crows today.

I rebuilt NancysBest today.

I still need to finish and send out the rest of my Xmas cards.

Thrifty thrifting

James and I went to the thrift store and found AMAZING things.

I found 80s rubber cowgirl boots that look amazing. We also found a working crock pot, fancy aquarium rocks, a book on advanced french language techniques, and a book called Purple Cow… which has serious significance, as that was the name of the DYSC newsletter that I worked on for awhile, as well as the name of the youth room at Annapolis UU. I think this year is going to be a big year, It has already started out big.
